Princethorpe College is a mixed 11- 18 independent Catholic day school with around 900 pupils, 200 of whom are in the Sixth Form. We aim to encourage a lifelong love of learning and an understanding of moral values, and to put young people on the road to happy and fulfilled lives.

Please note that Princethorpe College will close from 2.00pm Tuesday 24 December 2024 and will re-open on Thursday 2 January 2025. 

Christmas Masses at Princethorpe College

Fr Teddy O'Brien MSC, the parish priest for St Anne's, Wappenbury and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Angels, Princethorpe College, warmly invites you to attend the Christmas Eve Masses on Sunday 24 December 2024 at 5.00pm and again at 9.00pm, held at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Angels, Princethorpe College.

 
 

Princethorpe College is a Catholic, co-educational, HMC independent day school for around 930 pupils aged eleven to eighteen and welcomes members of all faiths and backgrounds.

The College is renowned for the way in which it looks after its pupils and is characterised by its strong Christian ethos, which underpins everything we do.

The school has a unique history, beautiful surroundings and unequalled character. The atmosphere is warm, open and friendly, but the traditional values of courtesy, discipline, organisation and mutual respect are expected from all.

We pursue academic rigour, want our pupils to be enthusiastic about hard work and to play a full part  in the broader aspects of school life.

Our aim is simple: to treat every pupil as an individual, supporting them as they grow into mature, confident, resilient and well-rounded young people with a strong set of moral values to guide them through adult life. 

VAT on School Fees - The Foundation's Response
In August we announced our response to the Government’s plan to introduce VAT to private school fees from January 2025. Following the Budget announcement in October, the Foundation has confirmed that it is standing by its commitment to minimise the impact on families by reducing our fees from January 2025. The increase passed on to parents will be 5%, substantially less than the 20% VAT rate. For more on the fees and our strategy, please click here.

Year 9 - 11 Curriculum Insights Evening

Thursday 9 January 2025, 6.15pm to 8.00pm

Whilst the overwhelming majority of children join us in Year 7, pupils looking at entry to Years 8, 9 or 10 are welcome to join the College as space allows.

Join us for our Curriculum Insights Evening, aimed at pupils in Years 8 and 9 looking to join Princethorpe in Years 9 and 10, the event will run in parallel to the College’s Year 9 Options Evening and will give visitors an overview of the Key Stage 4 curriculum at Princethorpe, the core GCSE subjects, the GCSE and BTEC options available, the College’s ethos and wider opportunities at the school.

Foundation’s Response to VAT on School Fees

Update

In August we announced our response to the Government’s plan to introduce VAT to private school fees from January 2025. Following the Budget announcement in October, the Foundation has confirmed that it is standing by its commitment to minimise the impact on families by reducing our fees from January 2025. The increase passed on to parents will be 5%, substantially less than the 20% VAT rate.

We are very mindful that parents will be keen to know the fees for 2025-26 as soon as possible; we have already started our financial modelling for the next academic year and will communicate with parents as soon as we are able to.
