Successful Sixth Form Geography Field Trip

Our Lower Sixth Geographers very much enjoyed their residential field trip. They visited the excellent Cranedale Centre in Kirby Grindalythe in Yorkshire from Tuesday 21 to Friday 24 January, to conduct field studies on costal places and regeneration in urban areas, both key topics for their A-level studies.
The weather had its moments but everyone wrapped up well and worked hard to collect and analyse their data. The students gathered data in Scarborough and looked at coastal landforms at Flamborough Head. They also visited Skipsea, Mappleton and Hornsea to witness first hand the brutal power of the sea and the strategies in place to combat it. As always, the trip was an invaluable learning experience that will assist them all in completing their coursework.
