1st VII Netball Team Just Miss A Medal At The Nationals

Congratulations to the College's 1st VII Netball team on an excellent outing at the U18 ISA National Tournament in Nottingham on Friday 14 March.
The girls faced tough opposition from the best independent school netball teams in the country and, after an exciting day of play, just missed out on a medal.
The girls stormed through the first round, winning six matches on the trot to finish top of the table with excellent results against Finborough School 9-6, King’s High School 12-8, Leighton Park School 13-6, Kingham Hill School 13-5, Hulme Grammar School 13-5 and Claires Court School 16-6. That qualified them for the afternoon’s knockout Cup competition.
They confidently saw off Queen Ethelburga’s College in the quarter-final 17-1 but then faced New Hall School in the semi-final in a very closely matched game. Despite their resilience and determination, they just lost out 9-10. The play-off for the bronze medal was against Wycliffe College and the girls could not overcome their opposition with the match finishing 10-12.
It was hard for the girls to just miss a medal after playing some amazing netball throughout the day. This team continue to amaze us with their tenacity and versatility. They have had a great season so far and fourth place in the ISA Nationals is a real achievement. A huge well done to them all!
