U14 Girls Footballers Take Gold At The ISA Midlands Tournament

Princethorpe’s U14 Girls were on top form at the ISA Midlands Girls Football Tournament and were delighted to come away with Gold medals.
The tournament took place on Wednesday 19 March at Stafford Grammar and the College took a squad of nine Year 8 and Year 9 girls, who worked fantastically well together showing great team-spirit, determination and quality.
The team played four games in the first round against St Dominic's Grammar, Lichfield Cathedral School, Birchfield Indpendent Girls' School and Twycross House B winning two and drawing two. That qualified them for the play-offs where they faced Twycross House A.
The final was a closely matched game where despite their tireless efforts they were unable to break the deadlock and were held to a draw. The match went to penalties which was nail-biting for them all but the girls held their nerve and were delighted to come out on top.
As well as their excellence on the field, the girls conducted themselves brilliantly off the pitch showing sportsmanship and team spirit and representing the College with pride. A huge well done to them all!
