Year 11 Tackle The Intermediate Online Challenge

28 Mar

Pupils in Year 11 have just put their physics skills to the test in the British Physics Olympiad Intermediate written challenge.

Consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions, the challenge goes well beyond the standard curriculum and is a valuable enrichment experience for pupils.

Our top Year 11 physicists tackled the questions with enthusiasm, building their confidence, understanding and problem-solving prowess. Their results were excellent with one pupil receiving a Commendation, nine achieving Bronze and, with the best Intermediate Physics Challenge result the College has ever had, one pupil, Daniel Ovens Gibbs, awarded Gold.

Head of Physics, Dan Lee, commented, “The British Physics Olympiad Challenges are well respected tests. They encourage participants to approach problems with an open mind, taking the principles of Physics and applying their learning to the real world. Our pupils all did very well, congratulations to them all.”
